    Responsibilities

    General Managers are responsible for the overall management of the branch including all aspects of client care, personnel recruitment, hiring, orientation and supervision of employees, adherence to company policies and procedures, and meeting the financial plan objectives.

     

    Client Care:

    1. Assures client care is delivered according to established care guidelines, Plan of Care, Physicians Orders, agency Policies and Procedures and meets payer requirements.
    2. Oversees the referral process.  Assures clients are accepted for care according to company admission criteria.
    3. Oversees/handles client complaints or concerns with the assistance of other staff to resolution.
    4. Assures all Vulnerable Adult/Child Protection reports are conducted following the company's policies and procedures.
    5. Assures clients are discharged from the company according to established policies and procedures.
    6. Participates in and oversees the after hours on-call process to assure client care policies and procedures are followed.
    7. Assures branch compliance with state and federal regulations and Company policies/procedures.

    Community Relations:

    1. Develops and implements the branch marketing plan to assure financial objectives are met.
    2. Develops and maintains a good working relationship with referral sources including physicians, hospitals, nursing homes, community resources and payers.
    3. Negotiates contracts with payers who have clients within the branch service area including agreements.

    Personnel Management:

    1. Recruits and hires qualified staff to meet the internal branch needs and client care needs.
    2. Oversees orientation of new staff members according to established guidelines.
    3. Assures ongoing training and in-service education requirements for staff are met.
    4. Oversees the compensation policies and procedures to assure guidelines are met.
    5. Implements branch safety programs and assures completion of reports for Workers' Compensation.
    6. Oversees the performance review of all branch staff.
    7. Assures plans and all hiring, supervision, discipline, evaluation, training, assignment and discharge of staff is done according to established company policies and procedures.
    8. Establishes a culture that allows for the professional development of staff.

    Financial:

    1. Responsible for the development and implementation of the branch financial plan.
    2. Ensures gross profit objectives for each client are met, ultimately meeting the branch financial objectives.
    3. Oversees the branch billing process to assure services are provided following payer guidelines and company collects accounts receivables according to established criteria.

     

    Qualifications

    1. Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) or other professional degree if approved by the CEO or Vice President.
    2. Five years of experience in a health care setting with increasing responsibility. Home Health Care experience preferred.
    3. Good organizational skills. Ability to work independently.
    4. Excellent written and oral communication skills.  
    5. Demonstrates the ability to manage several concurrent assignments and prioritizes workloads accordingly.
    6. Demonstrates dependability, maturity, tact and ability to follow instructions.
    7. Pass initial and ongoing background studies and screenings including but not limited to those of the Minnesota Department of Health and the Federal Office of the Inspector General’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities.
    8. Current drivers license with proof of automobile insurance.

    Physical Requirements (Text Only)

    Light to Medium - primarily desk work; some bending, stretching, handling supplies, light housekeeping, etc. Also necessary to drive a car to meetings and client's homes. Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for light work.
